Like most therapists,
I work with a variety of concerns (see list below). While some
of these concerns can be addressed in a few short sessions,
others will
take much longer. As a rule, the longer it took to develop a
problem, the longer it will take to resolve it. The most important thing
you can do is to get started and to do as much as you can whenever you can.
As with most things in life, the more you put into the therapeutic process, the faster and
farther you're likely to go.
In an effort to aide
you in your work, I
routinely provide handouts, give homework assignments, recommend
supplemental readings and encourage people to take advantage
of resources outside of the therapy setting.
